Love, Love Love this book March 13, 2013
“Leave the broken, irreversible past in God’s hand, and step out into the invincible future with him”.
Spoiler alert: Being a Christian doesn’t automatically make life all rainbows and sunshine!
Brielle is back, as is the whole gang—plus a few new faces. Now that Brielle’s a Christian, the fight is really on. But she must learn that in the midst of her brokenness, God does his best work. Though we see through worldly eyes, the celestial doesn’t cease to exist. This is such a great story of brokenness, faithfulness, worship, and truth. Brielle finds new tools to fight with and an army that strong and true. Such a great story with fun twists and turns. Be ready to put the puzzle pieces together with Brielle and Jake as they understand further the plan that God has for them. It is a great ride!

Loved this book!! March 2, 2013
I really don't even know where to start! I honestly can't believe this book had such a cliffhanger ending and now I'm going to have to wait until August to find out what happens!
This book was absolutely incredible! The first book (Angel Eyes) spent a lot of time showing how depressed Brielle was and slowly integrating Jake, Canaan and their world into her life. Everyone else kinda got left behind in the first book but in Broken Wings, Brielle starts sharing the Celestial world with Kaylee (her best friend) and then eventually with her dad. Whether either of them is receptive or not, I'm going to leave you to figure out for yourself.
We, as the reader, learn more about Brielle's mom in this book and how she died. It comes into the open rather harshly and is really a source of friction between Brielle and her dad, with secrets and everything. We're also introduced to a new semi-main character in this book, Olivia Holt. I spent most of the book really disliking her but as it progressed and I learned certain things, I don't really know what to think about her. Nothing is really resolved with her at the end of the book, contrary to what I expected. I have a feeling she will be playing a fairly major role in book #3.
And Jake!!! Oh my gosh, the way it all ends with his character in this book!! Are you kidding me? What's going to happen with him??
I am so incredibly excited for the final book in this trilogy. I highly recommend this one not only to lovers of Christian Fiction but really to anybody!

Great Book!! February 14, 2013
Initially I had a hard time getting into this book. However I restarted it and found it to be a very good book. I would have understood it better I believe if I would have read the first book in the series.
The story is about Brielle, a young girl with special powers. She is trying to understand the sudden changes in her life. She is being sought after by a demon.
Initially I had a hard time keeping up because of the way the story switches between characters, and because I had not read the first book in the series. The story was full of twists and turns which I enjoyed, it was not predictable.
I found that the characters worked well together. For a fiction book I was surprised that it has affected my faith. The descriptions of worship and the way the character sees it has totally crept into my life, and I find that in church I remember this, and think about the scent of adoration.
I would recommend this book to others, but I would say that you might enjoy reading the whole series instead of just this book.

Giant angels with metal wings and visible song. A blind demon restored from the pit of darkness. And a girl who has never felt more broken.
Brielle sees the world as it really is: a place where the Celestial exists side by side with human reality. But in the aftermath of a supernatural showdown, her life begins to crumble.
Her boyfriend, Jake, is keeping something from her—something important. Her overprotective father has started drinking again. And he’s dating a much younger woman who makes Brielle’s skin crawl. Haunting nightmares invade Brielle’s sleep, and flashes of Celestial vision keep her off kilter.
What she doesn’t know is that she’s been targeted. The Prince of Darkness himself has heard of the boy with healing in his hands and of the girl who sees through the Terrestrial Veil.
Brielle has no choice. She knows evil forces are converging and will soon rain their terror down on the town of Stratus. She must master the weapons she’s been given. She must fight.
But can she fly with broken wings?
