I loved this book! January 29, 2013
I am still fairly new to the Christian Fiction genre but I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. I had my suspicions throughout it that it had been loosely based on the Book of Ruth in the Bible. As I turned to the Reading Group Guide in the back, that suspicion was confirmed. Ruth is one of my favorite stories in the Bible and to see it presented in such a way...Natalia leaving her home and her family to follow her heartbroken stepmother to America. It was so beautiful. And I loved the little almost romance going on between her and Brian. She fought her feelings for him in the beginning of the book because she was afraid of ending up like her dad and Maureen (her stepmother). How the book ends, I can't tell you. But I enjoyed all of it! Wonderful book!
