The Only Study Bible 4 Me July 24, 2012
I love the NKJV. Where other versions use the less-reliable Alexandrian texts, the NKJV sticks with the KJV in using the Textus Receptus. And what I like is that the NKJV notes the differences in the three texts: TR (Textus Receptus), MT (Majority Text), and NU (Alexandrian). In this way I can read why other people's versions are reading differently - and see where they are in error.
This Study Bible does for me what I had hopes the NIV Study Bible would do. That was before I learned the source texts of the NIV (Alexandrian/Gnostic). The NKJV has numerous study aids that will keep the daily reader digging deeper into the text.
The only "gripe" I have with the NKJV is not in the version itself but in the few cover designs that are available. Why is that? Certainly the Thomas Nelson marketing team have considered this. The covers that are presently out there are downright ugly. Sorry. They just are.
